Thanksgiving: Family Picture from 2007

As you can see this is from 2007. We had 82 in the picture and were missing 11 more. This was the last year we got a large group picture before my grandmother passed away at 101. She passed a week before her 102nd birthday and about 20 days before what would have been her 103rd Thanksgiving celebration.

Our numbers were down this year. We only had 76 at this years celebration.

Than, I'm sure grandmother was missed. I gotta know many turkeys did it take to feed the family!

What a large family, you would need a moderate sized function hall to get everyone in. It is amazing your grandmother lived such a wonderful life past 100.  Hope you had a good thanksgiving, have a great Friday.

Than, what a blessing to have that large family all living near each other to celebrate together! Honestly, my jaw dropped at that photo.  I don't live near any family at all, so I envy you very much!

Wow - I am Italian from a family in New York. We can't seem to get all together except for weddings and funerals. I would love to have a family picture like that. Wonderful, brilliant and I am jealous. God Bless

Thanks for sharing your family traditions.  Your grandmother would be proud.

Enjoy the holiday season and be sure to have your camera in hand to capture those special moments that you will want to share with family and friends.

That's a real celebration!  What a great looking group.  And I can pick out your grandmother and very glad for you that she could be in that photo.

Thanks everyone. It was great having her around so long. She was very health until the last 6-8 months. Once she started slipping it went really fast.

We tried to put her in the middle of the picture. The photographer isn't counted in the number present because he was only a 'boyfriend' at the time. He is in thebucket of a skid steer raise dto its max height. I think that might be why he never came back.

Sure wish we had anywhere near that many.  Most of our family has either died off or moved far away.  Down to just 9 this year.  Would love to have double that. You have a lot to be thankful for.

We are scattered to the corners of the earth but got together last Thanksgiving for my aunt's 85th.

Not so many of us left but still a good crowd.

I wish all my family could get together on Thanksgiving. I have 52 first cousins so go figure the number of our entirety!

It is great to get the entire family together..I have 10 siblings and can't get them all together except at weddings and/or funeral.  With all the nieces nephews, great and grand they are scattered across the country.  What a joy your grandmother had seeing all the family together all those years.

Than - that is wonderful! I bet your grandmother was there with all of you. She must have enjoyed all those Thanksgivings and given you all such wonderful memories.

Than, I'm sure your grandmother was looking down on all of you with love in her heart. She was a great role model and she kept her family together. What a blessing it is to have had so many generations get to know and adore her. And now, the rest of the family can continue the tradition of getting together and celebrate, having shared memories of her and each other.

That's great, "All My Children," photo from 2007. What are the odds you'd have that many in the picture at the same time? If only 11 were missing, that says a lot about they type of family you come from. Blood is thicker than water.

Congratulations on being blessed to be born into such a wonderful family. Few people can claim this honor as their own.

Hi Than! Wow, this is a wonderful picture! That must be your grandmother in the middle with the pretty white hair. I can't imagine preparing a Thanksgiving meal for so many - how many turkeys did you have to cook?

This family picture is amazing!  Someone who comes from a huge family as well - Grandmother had 12, Mother had 12, Aunts had 6 a piece, and Uncles chimed in with 6 of their own. Our Grandmother was blessed with over, I believe, 60+ grand-children and great-grands.  As for me, I stuck to having 1, and happy about having my first grand-daughter!

Thanks for sharing your family photo, it puts having family in perspective!
