View From Purcell, Oklahoma: Scuba Diving in Belize

Scuba Diving in Belize

The pictures are not very good. Bought a cheap 35mm underwater camera. I couldn't get the flash to work most of the time, but these are the ones that are somewhat viewable.

fish and coral

I don't know the type of fish. He just had a nice blue multi-color.

yellow tubes

They are a nice yellow because the flash worked this time. The background is actually colorful, but the flash doesn't go far enough to pick up the color.

lionfish 1

I had never seen a Lionfish in the wild before. They have poison in their dorsal fin.

According to National Geographic their stings are rarely fatal to humans.

lionfish 2

Another of the Lionfish also known as a scorpionfish.

Than, I  have never seen a lion fish live and I had over 5000 ocean dives in when I used to teach scuba diving. I'm so jealous!!!!  Love the photos - good color from a disposable.

Debra and Ann: I have a few fromSnuba diving with my family. That is a story all to itself, but I will try and post the pictures this week.

Juli: From what I can tell the Lionfish is getting close to 'pest' status and seems to be invading the Caribbean.

Diving is always fun for me. It normally takes the first day to get back in sync and then it is really relaxing.
