Daily Devotional: Breaking Bad Habits

Romans 12:21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Prayer Starter: God, I'm done living with bad habits. I make a choice now to take the authority You've given me over temptations that want to boss me around. I will follow Your Holy Spirit into new and better habits.

You know, there are a couple of things that I, personally, don't think belong in real is discussions on politics and the other is religion.........I firmly believe in a separation of church and state.

I don't. No where does it state that church and state should be separate. The statement is the State shall not establish a religion.

I sell houses to democrats and liberals and I even built a house for an avowed atheist, not too mention for people of different faiths. If people can't accept difference then there is a problem with them and not me.

Than, food for thought.  I do believe that we make much of own destiny and bad habits are ones that hinder that progress including our relationship with our God!

Barbara, I agree with you 100%. That said, I will acknowledge that at least Than's "devotional" is not offensive like this guy calling non-believers "manure" or all of the idiotic "jokes" I have seen posted on Active Rain.

Atheists - the last minority group it is socially acceptable to openly demagogue and discriminate against.

I actually had commented on your blog and I guess that is how she ended up on my Devotional posts. My guess is she is one of those that chooses to be offended by Christians or if we talk about our faith. I love the way she put devotional in quotes.

Based on her last sentence I would also guess she is an atheist, which is her choice her right. Again, I would bet if you talk about religion around her she feels attacked and doesn't want to hear it. I used to have great discussions with an avowed atheist while I was building his home. He made fun of my "Sky Daddy" (his term) and I made fun of his belief that everything just formed on its own.

I came over to visit because of Melanie Dawn's comment...!!! She left a similar comment on one of my recent posts...!!! I'm not going to put a hot link to that post because I respect the integrity of your blog. If anyone is truly interested they can take the time and effort to check it out on their own.

Suffice it to say that I never referred to anyone or group as 'manure'...As I explained for Melanie, I think some ideologies are 'manure', but people certainly aren't, and that includes Muslims, Atheists, Jews, Buddhists, Gays, etc...And even some Democrats...LOL...!!!

Ironically, when Christians explain their belief in Grace and The Holy Spirit, we are crossing some imaginary line of correctness...that is truly MANURE...!!!

Easter blessings to you and yours...!!!

Thanks,   Fran
