First Blooms of Spring.... Winter?!?!?

Purcell, Oklahoma

Daffodil purcell oklahoma winter 2012

Early blooming Daffodils have gotten an even earlier start this year

Yellow & White Daffodil Purcell OKlahoma

Another Daffodil that is an earlier bloomer. This year it is super early.

Purple Heather in my front flower bed.You can see white blooms to the left. It is one of those that came up as a two plants out of the nursery bucket.

Scraggly looking bush during the winter, but really pretty when it is blooming.

Heather close-up

Close up shot of the Heather blooms. They are very small flowers, but very pretty purple/pink.

Than - beautiful flowers, thank you for sharing!  Daffodils, tulips, etc won't do well here as it doesn't get cold enough for them to go dormant.  A good problem to have, IMO....  ;)

I am looking for a nice early spring this year.  I have so much work to get done before fishing starts!

I can't wait to see blooms like this here in New Hampshire!  It's 65 degrees currently and it's wonderful!

Than, Great photos!  The trees here are about to burst into blossom or leaves depending on the variety of tree.  It is getting to be that time of year!

Hi Than, Spring will be here soon but I think the flowers have arrived before the invitation. But as they say, Mother Nature doesn't like it when we argue with her. :-)

I remember how excited we would get in Germany when those first flowers peeked through the snow!

Than, spring is suchh a great renewing time and your photos remind us of new growth - not just in nature, but in ourselves if we let it.
