Daily Devotional: Sickness Isn't Only Physical

Prayer Starter: Lord, thank You for caring about every part of me, including my emotions. Any emotional pains and wounds that I have, I bring to You. I know that You can heal and restore me.

Isaiah 61:1 The LORD God's spirit is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me. He has sent me to bring good news to the poor, to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim release for captives, and liberation for prisoners,

The emotional wounds are often the most devastating. They are hidden from sight and hidden by us. We have been taught not to show our emotions or show weakness, tough it out and things will improve.

I have always told my boys it is okay to cry---for a reason. Crying because you lost a game, got beaten in a video game, etc are not reasons to cry. You can be disappointed, upset or want a rematch but no crying (really no losing control of your emotions). I am not saying internalize it, just use it, release it to your advantage!

The loss of a pet, friend, family member, pain/injury, true heart ache and pain absolutely!

Than, this post is so true. Emotional pain can lead to physical pain(happened to me).
