FUNDRAISING KICKS OFF FOR NEW PARK IN PURCELL (8-1-2012)

FUNDRAISING KICKS OFF FOR NEW PARK IN PURCELL

CYAP (Community Youth Activity Program) has officially begun fundraising for a new park in Purcell! The proposed park is to be built on the site where the old Hawthorne was sitting, next to Delta Head start. The city will allow us to use the land, but money for the park will have to come through various fundraisers and donations from citizens, business owners, churches, clubs and organizations throughout Purcell and surrounding communities. The proposed layout of the park is subject to change, and the park will be built in phases as the money is raised. Phase 1 of the park is to be a skateboard park. For more information or to make a donation, please contact Charlotte Rentfro at 527-2644 or Cindy Millsap at 640-0067. (Information provided by the Purcell Chamber of COmmerce)

Purcell has a shortage of playgrounds and green space for relaxing. Hopefully, this will be a start of some much needed updating.

I hope your company will provide some major funding for this park as you work on fundraising for this very good cause.

Than, This is a great collaboration with the City and community fundraising efforts.  All cities need parks and recreation areas.  I am sure it will be a success and the community will benefit greatly from it.

Great event for the community that will eventually be one of the places that everyone will use and be proud of.
