ObamaCare: Not So Affordable According to the Teamsters

As the author of this article on Wizbangblog states:

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHH!!!"

You seriously need to go to the article and read the letter from "James Hoffa, President of the Teamsters and two other influential union leaders".

From the Letter:

Dear Leader Reid and Leader Pelosi:

When you and the President sought our support for the Affordable Care Act (ACA), you pledged that if we liked the health plans we have now, we could keep them. Sadly, that promise is under threat. Right now, unless you and the Obama Administration enact an equitable fix, the ACA will shatter not only our hard-earned health benefits, but destroy the foundation of the 40 hour work week

LOL, LOL, LOL...who knew this ACA (0bamaCare) was such a bad idea, besides anyone with a brain, that is.

Even the unions are talking about how the 40 hour work week is being destroyed. Hmmmm, is that because people are being switched over to part-time, so companies can avoid the ridiculous expense of the ACA?

Love the Dear Leader in the salutation....Very socialist/communist in tone. (Yes, I know that Reid is the Leader of the Senate and Pelosi is minority leader of the House, but, seriously?!?!?!)

Time is running out: Congress wrote this law; we voted for you. We have a problem; you need to fix it. The unintended consequences of the ACA are severe. Perverse incentives are already creating nightmare scenarios:

ROFL, RFOL, LOL, HAHAHAHA... Unintended consequences? I guess Pelosi really meant it when she said "We have to pass it to find out what's in it!" The government passed a law that did something other than what they intended? Or maybe this is what they intended and it is just another way to help bring our nation to it's knees.

I love the union's "non-profit health plans". The company running the health plan may not make a profit, but the management and union leaders and family members running those plans are making a killing.

I hope they choke on it.  However, Lord Obama will probably just change the rules by decree and our neutered Republican Reps will just let him do it.

New York City claims that it will reduce premiums by 50% or so.

But they don't talk about restrictions of coverage and where you may be able to go for care.

Seems like the supporters of it all have 5 or more year waivers. Vote for anyone but incumbants and lets clean the crap out of the peoples house

More and more Liberals are feeling the pain, and realizing that they have been had by the Democrat Party and Barack Hussein Obama.

Absolutely ridiculous.  When the Teamsters are upset about the healthcare act, you know there is a problem.  I recently read that NAR is concerned that the way the law is written that real estate brokerages with more than 50 associates could be forced to obtain health insurance for their agents by the letter of the law.

Yes, I am just afraid the Republicans are to spine-less to eliminate this crap. I don't know if it is better to let it go and implode or completely defund it. Defunding it gets the Republicans blamed, BUT the MSM is going to blame the Reps no matter what.

The Reps are being spineless on immigration reform too. Twelve million (minimum) more Democrats are waiting for citizenship. The Reps actually believe the MSM lies that pandering to the Hispanics will get votes. Maybe the Reps should "pander" to their base!

That is the perfect term - the 'neutering' of Republicans.  Yes, 12 million Democrats on the horizon.  In my opinion, we have too much 'creeping communism' in our country.  Personally, I like the concept of the personalized health savings account, although most people probably aren't disciplined enough to handle it.

Than: it is so hard to believe that this administration was re-elected. This is the first time in my life that I could honestly believe an election was corrupt. I would rather believe that than believe my follow citizens voted for him.

This is to be expected when Congress passes bills that have thousands of pages, and members don't read them or have a general understanding of the contents.

It still is the law unless the house defunds it so you need to call you representative and tell them to defund it before September.

My only question is: Is ActiveRain the right platform to discuss politics or religion?

Barbara,

If people are willing to read it and comment on it then it is appropriate.  When people start setting rules about what is appropriate and what is not that is a big concern.  Those that want to censor often only want to censor one side.

Besides Obama Care is going to have a big impact on our business.

Posted by Gene Riemenschneider, Turning Houses into Homes (Home Point Real Estate) about 6 years ago

Gene: Thanks. I hear this from time to time and it amazes me at first and then I realize these are the same people that fall into three camps:

  1. The low information voter: They get all their info from the MSM and have no idea what really is going on.
  2. The other side: They don't want to hear anything they disagree with and because it is 'all lies!'
  3. The appeasers: Don't offend ANYONE, EVER! Or it is just a 'little change' and no big deal or 'It doesn't affect me.' Just check history to see how well that has worked out for numerous populations.

Just about anything the government does effects us. What if the IRS decided that NAR was too conservative and started harassing them like they did conservative groups? Would that worry you Barbara Jo?

Have you ever thought that your selling beach front property and helping to develop the coastal area might be offending environmentalists? What about those that don't want the area to change/grow? Every time you write a blog about an area aren't you attracting 'new' people to the area? Careful, the 'natives' might not like that......  My point....It is easy to offend those that CHOOSE to be offended.

Hi Than. Unlike some people I do not want ObamaCare to be defunded. I want it to be repealed in its entirety. Whenever government interferes with A business they end up increasing the price and cost of the product or service and WE end up paying for it.

This is basic economics. It affects everyone including doctors and real estate agents. When the IRS penalizes and taxes those people who do not buy health insurance many who are unable to afford it they will have a huge tax bill! Mind boggling really.
