Ice Storm December 2013 Part 2
I had some damage from the storm. Three larger branches and one small cedar branch. At least that is what I have seen so far.
As I walked around my house Saturday checking for damage I could hear "Snap, crash, crash, crash" as large branches broke and fell to the ground.
There is 70+ acres 400 yards away and it is heavily treed and in a fairly untouched state. I am sure that was the majority of the falling branches. There is plenty to keep the tree trimmers busy in the coming months.
The first two bushes (Crepe Myrtle and a Nandina) on the south side were virtually untouched by the ice.
My biggest tree damage was this 8" branch that snapped at the trunk and took the lower 4" branch with it.
